Morgan is perhaps, along with Carol, the character who has had the most outright and compelling development across the series, but he ultimately and tragically comes full circle this year.

Prior to this we get more of the philosophising Morgan we've become accustomed to, with a sweet mentoring relationship with Benjamin and the ear of King Ezekiel. Morgan is always great to watch, but it goes up a gear with this turn.

After living as a pacifist, something within him snaps when Benjamin is killed and he learns it was Richard's fault, leading him to return to his killing ways - but the fact that he says his son's name at that time, and the confusion and despair Lennie James sells it with, is heartbreaking.

The dichotomy of the character is that this is tragic to witness, and yet marks a return to the badass killer we know Morgan and can, which will be a great weapon in the war that's just kicked off.
