The Walking Dead Season 8: 6 Reasons To Be Excited (& 3 To Be Worried)

4. More Action

There's a lot more to The Walking Dead than its big set-pieces, but it's also true that the action is one of the series' strongest aspects when done right.

Season 7 had some wonderfully creative walker-based moments, but on the whole was lacking in the sort of action we've come to expect. Once more, that's something that Season 8 looks like rectifying, with showrunner Scott Gimple saying it's "action on action on action."

Season 8 is war, so it needs to have a number of battles, complete with fight scenes, shootouts, explosions, and the body count racking up. Hopefully it will find room for character too, but when the writing isn't at its best, it should still at least be an entertaining spectacle, and that's a lot better than what we've had from the show recently.
