The Walking Dead Season 8 Spoilers: 10 Things You Need To Know About All Out War

1. The Time Jump

Not technically part of the war itself, but still a key component of where the story goes and indeed what might happen on TV (and potentially in Season 8, if the war only lasts the first half), because it's an intriguing idea.

Once the war is finished and the Militia are victorious, there's a big time jump forward of a few years. Negan is still in prison, but various other elements have changed: there are some big new characters who come into play, Maggie has finally had her baby, and Michonne has exiled herself to a quiet life at Oceanside.

Scott Gimple has discussed the potential of doing a time jump, and it seems that it's certainly a possibility. However, he's also mentioned that there's a lot of interesting stuff in there, so it could be we get a time jump and then flashbacks, a small jump, or nothing at all. It's harder to do on TV, because if you're jumping at least two years in the future then people obviously need to look different, especially the younger cast members. It also means Maggie actually having that baby, whereas she's clearly going to stay pregnant forever and not even show a baby bump. Joking aside, though, there are elements that could happen regardless, such as Carol (in place of Michonne) exiling herself to Oceanside, and the new additions such as Magna coming into play.
