4. Who Dies

As you'd expect from an event called All Out War, there are a number of characters who get killed off during the run. Some of them are important, although the core group, such as it is, largely remains intact: Rick, Carl, Andrea, Maggie, Michonne, Jesus, to name a few of the biggest characters, all make it through alive, as do key Saviours such as Negan and Dwight.

Some of the bigger ones, especially from the first volume, have already played out on the TV show: we've seen Negan kill 'Rapey Davey', and Sasha turned into a walker, which is what happened to Holly. Richard also dies here, and he's already a goner in the TV series. That leaves, from Vol. 1, one major candidate for the saddest death: Shiva.

Ezekiel's tiger fights alongside him in the war, and in the end sacrifices herself to a group of walkers in order to save him. In Vol. 2, meanwhile, one of the bigger deaths is Denise, which again has already happened. It's here she eventually succumbs after being bitten by Holly in the first volume.

The show has a big cast of characters to play with though, so there are still numerous candidates for who'll be killed off. The likes of Morgan and Carol have already departed in the comics, so they could well go (indeed I've suspected at least one of them will die fighting Negan for a while now, and I still think that will happen at some point). Tara, given her relationship with Denise, could die in a sort of nod to the comics. So too could many others, really, because it's not like that many of the Alexandrians need to live, beyond a small core group.
