The Walking Dead Season 9: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Bridge'

2. Maggie's Conflict Over Taking Away Life

After making a harsh decision to execute Gregory during last week's premiere, the leader of the Hilltop found herself on the wrong side of pretty much everyone in The Bridge. While some would argue that she was justified in her reasoning for killing Gregory, it's her imprisonment of Ken's father that causes uproar within the community.

Much like Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones, Maggie is beginning to realise that, while in charge, you must be able to make decisions about whether someone should live or die. Such a dilemma proves difficult for her, and it's only when she's reminded of her true friends that she remembers her values as a human being.

It's an interesting debate, and one that has been explored on the show several times over the years (specifically in regards to Carol, Rick and Morgan), but there doesn't seem to be a clear cut answer. It's a topic that will likely continue to be discussed until the show reaches its conclusion.
