The Walking Dead Season 9: 4 Ups & 2 Downs From ‘Warning Signs’

2. Maggie Vs Rick

It's not just Daryl and Rick that are failing to see eye to eye, as Maggie is also on the fence about Rick's new way of life. We've known how she feels about the decision to keep Negan alive for quite some time now, but it once again comes to light in Warning Signs.

Again, Rick's sermons about the importance of human life deserve to be commended, but it's quite simply unrealistic of him to expect someone like Maggie to just fall in line and go along with it - especially after what happened with Glenn. She's well within her rights to be angry about Negan being kept alive, and we can sympathise with her over it after all she's been through. The final minutes of the episode see Maggie allow the Oceansiders to kill a Saviour as an act of revenge, which is what drives her to team-up with Daryl. It's hard not to be cheering on the widow here, because it's about time that she got some revenge of her own.

The key question here is how will Rick react to Maggie and Daryl's revolution? Will he allow them their moment of revenge, or will he insist on keeping Negan alive once again. Either way, this is a rather enthralling storyline, and it's going to be interesting to see two of our central characters at each other's throats. What's more, with both Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan departing from the series, one can't help but wonder if this story will play a part in their characters' exits.
