The Walking Dead Season Finale: 10 Ways It Massively Disappointed
9. The Mysterious Disappearance Of Beth Greene
The whereabouts of Beth have been the source of much speculation. Seeing a distraught Daryl chasing after her aimlessly literally all night long was heartbreaking. It illustrated the helplessness he felt at being unable to protect her and was another step in softening his hardened demeanor. Their relationship, whatever it becomes, (which would be legal in Georgia by the way) has been one of this season's more interesting developments. Beth is a character who, much like Carol, spent her early time on the show as little more than background scenery. It wasn't until the prison was attacked and the group forced to flee that her character was finally fleshed out and given some depth. Initially it seemed as if she may have been taken by Joe's gang, but it soon became apparent that wasn't the case. Theories on her captors range from the people of Terminus, to a band of cannibals or Father Gabriel Stokes from the comics. The Gabriel theory holds weight due to the car she was driven away in having a cross on the back window. It remains to be seen if Beth is any danger, and it's possible someone thought they were rescuing her. But the fact that we're now four episodes into that mystery without even the slightest indication of her whereabouts is ultimately frustrating for us viewers. At least give us a hint.
