The Witcher: Casting Upcoming Characters

Dijkstra is a humble man who managed to rise to the position of Redania’s spymaster through his cunning and wit. The fact that he was able to reach such a high position given his origins is a feat in and of itself, yet when combined with his distinctly un-spy-like physicality (his stature is not what one would describe as subtle), it becomes doubly impressive.

Getting that physicality right alongside the ability to portray the character’s cunning is key, which is why the part should be given to Nonso Anozie.

Anozie has got the size to accurately represent Dijkstra’s build and is a great actor too. His performance in the overlooked short film Guava Island gave audiences an iron-fisted ruler with intelligence and humour that still managed to intimidate. That is Dijkstra through and through. Get him in, unless the role has already been cast – a distinct possibility with a few of these characters.
