The Witcher: Casting Upcoming Characters

3. Regis – Chris Chalk

The Witcher Dijkstra
CD Projekt RED/Netflix

The final member of Geralt’s company is an odd one – Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy is a moonshine-brewing vampire who has (mostly) stopped drinking blood after one too many bloody benders in his vampiric youth.

Regis is usually presented as looking older, with greying hair and a receded hairline, but what’s the point in having a seemingly immortal creature if he’s just going to look aged?

This is one of the reasons why Chris Chalk should play the character. He is old enough so that he can appear the wise figure that Regis is, though not so old that it defeats the purpose of the seeming agelessness.

On top of that, Chalk is a pro at playing polite, intelligent characters, an archetype that Regis most certainly fits into. The only reason I would avoid casting him is if Netflix were somehow able to get Tom Hiddleston for the part.
