The Witcher Season 2: 10 Monsters We Want To See

Lord of the Rings uses human tree hybrids as a loving metaphor for the sentience and wisdom of nature. In contrast, The Witcher uses such an idea as a terrifying example of how the natural world cares very little for humans and will kill them unapologetically.

These creatures are a peculiar and unique creation from Cornish faery lore. They are known to be grotesque and ugly, which can be seen in their Witcher 3 designs. They're also closely associated with Leshens, who were very close to making it onto this list. However, the more human-like appearance of the Spriggan is a little more achievable for the VFX team and could have some more assertive environmental discussions.

There's so much potential in a narrative surrounding one of these creatures, as their connection to the Earth could act as their motive for causing havoc to a local community. Perhaps Geralt is employed to rid them of this creature and comes to learn that their harsh actions towards the world around them are what's angered it.

Spriggan's have so much storytelling potential, and even without that, they look amazing, so seeing one in live-action would undoubtedly be a spectacle.
