Appeared In: Seasons 8 and 9 Last Seen: Parting ways with Mulder and Scully and driving off with Reyes as the super-soldiers "killed" the CSM in the ninth season's finale. Why He Should Return: Say what you will about the series' final two seasons, but John Doggett was a great character, whose biggest sin was simply that he "wasn't Mulder." Like James Pickens, Jr., actor Robert Patrick was asked to reprise his role for Season 10, though turned the offer down, both unsure of whether he wanted to return to the role and busy with his leading role on CBS' Scorpion. Despite that, if the show still has further seasons ahead of it, there's a lot of time to get him to change his mind and bring back the underrated FBI agent - even if it's just for closure's sake - because it's hard to imagine him not wanting to help Mulder and Scully put an end to the latest conspiracy after all they'd been through. So long as his return wouldn't see the character undergoing the same type of unflattering character reversal as that of Monica Reyes, he'd be a more than welcome addition back to The X-Files.
