The X-Files: 10 Original Series Characters Who Should Return
2. Alvin Kersh
Appeared In: Seasons 6, 8, 9 Last Seen: Aiding in Mulder's escape in the wake of his guilty verdict in the Season 9 finale, finally overcoming years of his stubborn attitude towards the former FBI agent. Why He Should Return: It's no secret that Chris Carter reached out to actor James Pickens, Jr. to reprise his role as Kersh for the show's tenth season, but presumably Pickens' ongoing role on ABC's Grey's Anatomy likely forced him to sit it out. From his introduction, Kersh was a frustrating antagonist, always ready to shut Mulder down, which made it easy to hate him. In the end, though, his coming around turned out to be a welcome if long overdue surprise. Between the fact that his fate within the FBI was left hanging and that it would be interesting to see the fully "changed" Kersh on Mulder's side, there's a lot worth keeping one's fingers crossed for that his return can be worked out somewhere down the line.
