8. Bryan Cranston
Best Known For "Malcolm in the Middle", "Breaking Bad"
Appears In "Drive" 1998 Sporting some impressive facial hair and getting in some practice for his role as Breaking Bad's Walter White, Cranston plays Patrick Crump, a homicidal yet sympathetic character with a terminal disease. After being exposed to deadly, experimental radio waves by the U.S. Navy, it becomes necessary for him to constantly travel west as failure to do so will cause his dead to explode. Intrigued by the car chase that has begun due to Crumps necessity; Mulder begins to investigate and manages to get himself kidnapped by the driver in the process. Over the rest of the episode we are witness to an example of the hard-nosed and bullish acting that has now made Cranston a household name, with both characters involved in heated discussions as they embark on their un-enviable road trip towards the Californian coast. Interestingly, Bryan Cranston had been called in to audition for a different role but, due to a miscommunication, was under the impression that he was reading for the part of Patrick Crump. He nailed the role so perfectly that they had no choice to cast him as Crump.
