The X-Files: 10 Things Every Fan Needs To Know About The New Episodes
7. Everyone's Favourite FBI Chief, Walter Skinner, Will Return
Mitch Pileggi is also confirmed to reprise his fan-favourite role of FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner. No longer under the control of alien co-conspirators and a confirmed convert to the cause of believing in the existence of extraterrestrial life, Skinner was still a friend to Mulder and Scully the last time fans saw him. But, when the second X-Files movie ended, Mulder was a "lone wolf" and Scully remained a medical doctor, and neither one of them worked for the FBI any more. With that in mind, it's far from clear that Walter Skinner would be in a position to work with them officially. It's more likely that Mulder and Scully will find themselves coincidentally probing the same case as Skinner's team, and the FBI chief will kindly share one or two vital titbits of information for old-times' sake. If things get too hot for Mulder and Scully, Skinner could even come to their aid. After all, he's not their enemy these days.
