The X-Files: 10 Things Every Fan Needs To Know About The New Episodes
6. Cigarette Smoking Man Is Back From The Dead
The parade of old faces doesn't stop with Walter Skinner - William B Davis is also back as the arch-nemesis of Fox Mulder, the Cigarette Smoking Man (or "CSM" to X-Philes). Actually, the character's real name was revealed to be CGB Spender way back in Season 6, but no one calls him that. The only surprise to the return of CSM is that, well, he's supposed to be dead. In the last episode of Season Nine, he was hit by a rocket fired out of a helicopter. Still, it won't be the first time rumours of his death were exaggerated, and the show certainly wouldn't feel like the X-Files without him. One advantage of having CSM back is that he can explain why the alien colonists are three years late in their invasion, because Earth was scheduled to fall to their invidious ways back in 2012. Well, continuity-obsessed X-Philes can hope, right?
