10. The Lone Gunmen Should Not Have Been Killed In The First Place

Season nine's Jump the Shark (a jab at critics utilizing the tired Happy Days meme) should never have happened, period. The episode saw the Lone Gunmen reunite with a couple of old friends from their short-lived spinoff show (Jimmy and Yves Adel Harlow) as well as man in black Morris Fletcher - and at that point, well, so far so good. Then the episode wound up with the Gunmen sacrificing themselves to stop the release of a toxic gas that would kill thousands. While you can argue that their sacrifice established them as heroes, they already were heroes, whether it be on their own series, or as the comic relief on The X-Files. It was a fate that was simply unnecessary - even on a show that has used Everything Dies as a tagline, not everything has to die. Their return in Babylon served as a reminder that they never should have been killed off in the first place. Which brings us to...
