So between all three of the gunmen, there was not a single spoken line? They were merely part of Mulder's drug-induced hallucination? Been there, done that. Back in the grand finale (at the time) of The X-Files, The Truth, the show brought the Gunmen back, part of a vision Mulder had in the desert. At least that time out, they got speaking lines. In Babylon, they got to party it up at some sort of southern dance/strip club hybrid, in one of the more entertaining scenes of the season - but one that completely wasted the best attribute of the Gunmen, their banter. It seems so pointless to have brought them back for such a minor cameo. At least in the comics (which have been said to be canon by Chris Carter), they're still alive, having faked their own deaths. That's the preferable approach to the Lone Gunmen, and we consider them alive, Mulder seeing them in visions or not.
