The X-Files: 10 Things We Learned From Babylon

4. Mulder's Theories Seem Crazier Each Year

So, I'm just going to munch some magic mushrooms and talk to the dead. Brain dead, anyway. At least, that seems to be how Fox Mulder approaches communicating with a comatose patient in Babylon. To be fair, Mulder and Scully encountered mushrooms which enabled psychic powers back in Excelsis Dei in the second season of The X-Files, so he has some experience with fungal hallucinogens. That said, who in their right mind pitches the idea of dropping shrooms to communicate with the dead as part of an FBI investigation of a terrorist bombing? Not only was Mulder's pitch out there even for him - and quite condescending - it's unbelievable that Agent Einstein would even consider it. Any sane person would have walked out the door, and she's supposed to be a skeptic.
