Appeared in: Season 2, Episode 20 - "Humbug" "Humbug" had a number of recognizable guest stars in it, including Michael J. Anderson (Twin Peaks, Carnivale), Jim Rose (he of the sideshow that gained fame at Lollapalooza in the festival's early years), and The Enigma (you can't miss him - he's entirely covered in tattoos) - but in the end, it was Vincent Schiavelli's (Ghost, Batman Returns) Lanny who stood out, along with his conjoined twin brother Leonard. Leonard hung off Lanny like a massive tumour, and the gross-out factor alone was high for this episode as a result. Once we learned that he was detaching from his brother and chewing up the local townsfolk (rather than it being the Fiji mermaid, as Mulder at one point considered), the yuck factor went up even more. Leonard was human... but he wasn't at the same time. A mutant the size of a small child crawling and scurrying around, covered in blood... really, Leonard was revolting enough to make the rest of the "freaks" in this freakshow-themed episode seem normal. The fact that Lanny was such a sympathetic character made things somehow worse, because you sympathised with Lanny when he proclaimed that Leonard's actions were because he was "merely seeking another brother" when questioned why his brother hated him so.
