Appeared in: Season 3, Episode 17 - "Pusher" and Season 5, Episode 8 - "Kitsunegari" The only reason Robert Patrick Modell, a.k.a. "Pusher," doesn't appear higher in this list is that at his core, he's really just a human character. A bad guy, for sure. Creepy? Definitely. A creature? Well that's debatable - but he's just too evil not too include. "Pusher" appeared twice on The X-Files and was one of the more popular "MOTW" (Monster of the Week) characters, though not a monster in any supernatural way - aside from the fact that he had a wicked case of cancer-driven ESP (of sorts) that allowed him to control people's actions, against their will. As Mulder described it, he was able to "push" his will upon people. A rather regular guy before developing the tumour which gave him these powers, he engaged in a cat and mouse game with the FBI after committing murders that seemed to be suicides at first glance, drawing in the authorities by providing details only someone with intimate knowledge of the crime scenes could provide. Pusher's atrocities included coercing a cop to douse himself with gasoline and immolate himself, and forcing Mulder into a game of Russian roulette. Perhaps his creepiest moment in the show, however, was talking an overweight detective into experiencing a heart attack - while Mulder pleaded and begged with the detective to hang up the phone.
