The X-Files: 15 Guest Stars Who Made It Big

14. Mark Sheppard (Season 1, Episode 12: Fire)

On The X-Files: Originally airing on December 17, 1993, Fire sees Mulder's Oxford ex-girlfriend crossing the pond and recruiting the dynamic duo to assist in the investigation into a series of deaths by fire. Mark Sheppard plays Cecil L'Ively, a pyrokinetic mutant who uses his unique ability to murder ranking British dignitaries. Most Memorable Moment: Covered in 5th and 6th degree burns and confined to a hypobaric chamber after setting himself on fire, Cecil grins at a nurse. "I'm dying for a cigarette," he says. How Mark Sheppard Made It Big: While most of his roles in the rest of the '90s were minor, memorable runs on 24, Battlestar Galactica, and Doctor Who brought Sheppard into the spotlight. Currently in his sixth season as recurring crossroads demon/king of Hell Crowley on The CW's Supernatural, Sheppard has made a name for himself in televised science fiction.

Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
