After interviewing Augustus Goldman, founder of Nugenics Technology following the suicide of researcher Dr. Sonny Sanjay, Mulder and Scully decide to look up his committed ex-wife, Jackie. Jackie, however, refuses to speak with them, at least initially, however, sitting in silence at a table in a common area with the agents for, we're told, a full ten minutes. Until a cat wanders into the room through the door behind Mulder and Scully, and Jackie hurls an apple at it. Seriously, lady, what did that cat ever do to you? Do you just hate cats? Was it a therapy animal at the hospital, and it peed in your lap? Who hates cats so much they'll bean one with a piece of fruit while a pair of FBI agents are watching?
