The X-Files: 5 Reasons Why It Should Return (And 4 Ways To Bring It Back)

3. Mini Series

x-files_s6_5 With the recent announcement that 24 would be returning via a miniseries and the final season of The Big C concluding in a mini series format, this would be a natural progression for The X-Files. Again, this format would be a cheaper and a less risky way to address the mythology without having the expense of a feature length movie. Moreover, Duchovny and Anderson would make a short term commitment rather than a long term one. Having several episodes would allow for the re-establishment of the characters and show format to a general audience as well as have the chance for the show to address plot threads and links from the previous seasons and/or films. More time could be given to address questions the fans are dying to know such as what happened to Mulder and Scully€™s baby, William.
