The X-Files Season 11: 10 Things We Learned From The New Trailer

8. The Smoking Man Seems To Be Healing

In the finale of Season 9, The Smoking Man (or if you prefer, the Cancer Man, or even C.G.B. Spender) was thought to have been destroyed. The flesh literally burned off his skull after a missile strike from a helicoptor destroyed his hidden desert bunker.

Then, in 2016's X-Files revival, we learned he was very much alive, thanks to modern medicine, but also very much disfigured. His wounds were horrendous, and covered up with prosthetics.

However, new clips of one of the most ominous television villains of all time show that he is healing rather nicely. Gone are his burn wounds, gone are the prosthetics used to cover up the fact that part of his face had been blown away like some modern Phantom of the Opera.

No, The Smoking Man is looking the healthiest he has been in years in the new Season 11 trailer. That's probably not a good thing for Mulder and Scully, let alone the planet.

Is this healing at all natural? Is it some new technology he's gotten his hands on, or something alien? While not a key plot point, this will likely need to be explained.
