This might be the most unlikely option there is for how to continue The X-Files, but it would be a popular choice among the hardcore fans. A full season of the series would allow for enough time to develop a proper end to the show, tie up all the loose plotlines (or most of them - let's not set the bar too high), and still get in plenty of Monster of the Week episodes to placate fans who prefer those to the alien-centric mythology. It's exactly what the doctor ordered, and the revival season did well enough in the ratings to justify greenlighting it. Sadly, it's about as likely as Santa bringing you that horse you really wanted as a kid. None of the main players have time in their schedule - but in all honesty, it's probably the best option the show could take.
