Titans Season 1: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'Origins'

1. Starfire Steals The Show

Titans Starfire
Warner Bros.

When Starfire first appeared in the series premiere, she randomly showed up in the middle of the episode, lost in Austria with no explanation as to how she got there. This came after the premiere spent the first twenty minutes in Michigan, setting up both Dick Grayson and Raven's character arcs. So, as you can imagine, the sudden switch was rather jarring and, though Anna Diop proved to be a formidable presence on screen, the storyline got lost in the midst of the all darkness in the main narrative.

After an absence in the second episode, the character made an explosive return in this week's outing as she tracked down Raven, burned the father figure in the villainous Nuclear Family, met Dick Grayson and tried to deduce who she actually was.

She was, without a doubt, the star of the show this week and this ultimately gave viewers a chance to get properly acquainted with her. Though her memories are still lost, she remained nothing short of radiant and took charge with a confidence that even rivalled Dick. Furthermore, it highlighted just how strong Diop actually is when she has good material to work with, and hopefully, this is only a sign of things to come.

Welcome to the show, Starfire.
