Titans Season 2: 3 Ups & 3 Downs From 'E.L._.O.'
Ups...
3. A New Side To Jason
A few weeks back, this writer toyed with the idea that Titans may have been attempting to show us a new side of Jason Todd, simply because the rowdy Robin thanked Superboy for saving his life. The series' baffling narrative structure may have prevented that friendship from getting off the ground, but it appears that there really are some soft layers underneath that domino mask.
Who would have thought that Jason Todd of all people was a sweetheart. Seriously, though? With his unforeseen knowledge of West Side Story and his genuine attempts to get closer to Rose, he was actually quite the catch, and it isn't hard to see why Rose is beginning to fall for him.
It was really nice to see Jason smile (no, not smirk), and Curran Walters played the affectionate facets of the young man's personality incredibly well. Whether or not this relationship can last, however, remains to be seen. It does seem like the writers are setting both characters up as each other's shot at redemption, but without the proper development, can we really buy it?
If we continue to see scenes like these, then maybe there's a chance.
