Titans Season 2: 5 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Rose'
Downs...
2. It's A Little Short
While 'Rose' balances the action of its titular newcomer's arrival with the emotional heaviness of Hank and Dawn's arc really well, some of those arcs felt a little underdeveloped - and it's hard not to place the blame on the episode's surprisingly short 40-minute runtime.
Now, given that a standard episode of network television has a runtime of 42 minutes, it might seem wrong to launch into a rant about this week's episode being two minutes short - and you'd be right in thinking that. But the fact of the matter is that this isn't network television, it's DC's exclusive streaming service - meaning that they can essentially push any boundaries or exceed any limits they like. And, if you've watched Titans before, you'll know that the show is no stranger to doing just that.
Another five or ten minutes really could have benefited the storytelling here. Instead, much of the episode felt like it was hitting story beats and lacked the story meat (and pacing) to truly bring them to life.
