Titans Season 2: 5 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Atonement'
1. Where Do We Go From Here?
The ending of each respective arc has certainly left Titans in an interesting place. Granted, it's frustrating that those places are simply more excuses for even more separation, as pairings like Hank and Dawn and Gar and Conner have now also been ripped apart, but it's hard to deny that we as viewers are intrigued as to what comes next.
How will Dick's arrest pan out? After all, he's a detective himself and the ward of one of the world's wealthiest men, so how does he explain himself to the authorities? Could this lead to Bruce intervening and perhaps kicking off Dick's journey towards forgiving himself?
Then you have Hank and Dawn. Their parting of ways may have been a little hard to buy but it is what it is. Will Hank walk that dark path once more, or will Dawn be able to get to him in time? And what of the threats made by Ellis' sister?
On the other hand, Conner's rampage in downtown San Francisco was more than a little public, so is there any comeback for the Superboy? And how will Dick react to this development? Perhaps Starfire will return to tame the new Kryptonian, or will Rachel return to let her darkness do the talking? And how will Gar, Rose and Jason factor into all of this?
Yes, that's a lot of questions, but the writers deserve some major credit for producing an episode that, in spite of certain frustrating developments, still managed to make us ask so many. Wherever the show goes from here, you can rest assured that fans will be watching.
