Titans Season 2: 6 Ups & 3 Downs From Aqualad

Downs...

3. No Time For The Present

The most jarring thing about 'Aqualad' was the fact that it all took place in the past. Sure, that's common practice for a flashback episode, but up until now, Titans would usually bookend its reflective episodes with short scenes in the present just to give us viewers the chance to understand why we're specifically learning this information now.

Of course, we know that it's time to learn some of mysterious information about what went down with the first iteration of the Titans because Deathstroke has re-entered their lives, but a little bit of context may have helped viewers who hadn't seen the previous episode and, more than anything, made the whole time-jump feel a little less jarring.
