Titans Season 2: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From ‘Deathstroke’
1. The Cliffhanger Ending
When you have an infamous character like Jason Todd on the show - one that just so happens to be every bit as loud, reckless and problematic as his comic book counterpart - there's a real thrill in everything that he does, because you never know how long he'll last. The reason for that thrill is, of course, down to his equally infamous death in the comics (at the hands of The Joker).
Putting Jason's life on the line over the past few weeks has been a genius move on the writers' part simply because we don't know if he'll make it out alive. That's why the shocking ending of 'Deathstroke' was a (Death)stroke of genius.
Sure, cliffhangers may seem a little cliché to some, but after spending the whole episode hoping that the team would save Jason only for him to potentially fall to his death, we, as viewers, are all left on the edges of our seats with our jaws on the floor - wondering if he'll make it.
Jason's iconic comic book death makes him a real wild card on the show, as we don't know if and when he'll be killed. And the writers were very wise to capitalise on that unpredictability with the latest episode's cliffhanger ending.
Now we have to tune in to see what happens next, don't we? Same Bat-time, same Bat-streaming service and all that jazz...
