Titans Season 2 Finale: 6 Ups & 5 Downs From ‘Nightwing’
5. The Fight Choreography
Being the hard-hitting gritty show that it is, Titans is no stranger to a good fight scene. In the past, it has produced some impressive showdowns - most of which benefited from choreography so seamless they almost looked like well-crafted dance routines. So yeah, you could say that its reputation precedes it, but that wasn't enough to prepare us for what we witnessed in this finale.
A non-stop brawl between two motivated warriors, Nightwing and Deathstroke came to blows rather early in the episode, and one advantage of that was that it meant their collision got to last a little longer than most fights - allowing us all to savour every last moment. And there was a lot to savour: Fisticuffs, backflips and even roundhouse kicks to name a few.
Throwing Rose into the mix was unexpected but it felt like an authentic way to do justice to her previously underdeveloped arc and it provided the show with a chance to up the fight choreography further - something it definitely accomplished.
Though the rushed narrative took Deathstroke from us too quickly, the fight itself made up for that. A showdown for the ages that eclipses just about every other fight the show has ever done, it was everything it should have been - and so much more.
