Titans Season 2 Premiere: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Trigon'

4. Gar Steps Up

Off the four core Titans in the first season, Garfield Logan (a.k.a. Beast Boy) was easily the most under-appreciated.

From last-minute cliffhangers that went nowhere to appearing in less episodes than the others, the character had very little to do at the beginning and, when you factored in that there were only 11 episodes, his lack of significance showed pretty quickly. Thankfully, it appears that the writers were simply building towards this moment,

It goes without saying that the beloved fan-favourite stepped things up in the Season 2 premiere. From being the target of Trigon's attacks to the fact that he was the one who managed to break Rachel free from her father's manipulation, Gar snatched the lead role from every other character and finally shone in the way that we had been waiting for him to do throughout the whole first season.

The fact that he finally turned into something other than a tiger (a snake) is a metaphor for his role in the show this season - he's branching out and exploring new territory while showing us all exactly what he's capable of in the process.

Aside from all that, his lovable enthusiasm (and Ryan Potter's infectiously optimistic performance) just makes him so easy to watch.

More Gar this season, please.
