Titans Season 2: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
1. Dick Grayson/Nightwing
For the second year running, Dick Grayson remains Titans' best character. Of course, the show made it easy for him to retain that title because he once again received the most screen-time, got the juiciest storylines and was at the center of both the present-day and flashback narratives. That being said, plenty of uninteresting TV characters have received this treatment over the years and still flopped, so there's something to be said for the strength of writing when it came to his character.
Originally adopting a more optimistic outlook, Dick wasn't able to run from his demons for long simply because the Titans' reunion sparked Deathstroke's return - and that kick-started a saga of self-torment for the young hero as he was forced to relive the team's first outing all those years ago and found himself trapped in another spiral of undying self-hatred.
There is no Titans without Dick Grayson, so it makes sense that he retained the focus. He is what the team, and by extension the show, is all about and the second season explored that incredibly well, documenting his journey into the light. Ironically, that right there is a microcosm of the narrative itself: Only by letting go of the past could Dick be reborn as Nightwing - something that the whole team had to do in order to resurrect the Titans.
Not everything was perfect and it took him a heck of a long time to get there, but the journey got him to where he needed to be - all while making for very compelling television.
Finally, Nightwing is here.
