Titans Vs. Arrowverse: Which Is Better?

8. Ensemble Casts

Titans V Arrowverse
DC Universe

While the Arrowverse has many strengths, its ability to showcase its large cast is not one of them. Too often, supporting characters end up pushed into the background, mindlessly nodding at whatever their respective show's hero says. This has happened quite often on Arrow and The Flash when the likes of Laurel Lance and Wally West have been sidelined in favour of much less interesting characters.

It's only the show with the biggest ensemble, Legends of Tomorrow, that knows exactly how to handle its large cast, rotating the spotlight so that each Legend gets a turn in the sun.

Though Titans is marketed as an ensemble show, Dick Grayson is undoubtedly the protagonist. However, that doesn't mean that the new series is incapable of showcasing its whole cast - because it does, very well. It did suffer a few teething issues in its first few episodes, particularly in regards to Beast Boy, but after overcoming those, all four Titans co-led multiple episodes - with each passing episode giving us the chance to learn more about not just Dick, but Rachel, Kory and Gar as well.

Furthermore, the show isn't afraid to showcase its guest cast either, highlighting what characters like Hawk, Dove and Donna Troy could potentially add to the show on a full-time basis.

Titans has single-handedly managed to maintain the spotlight on its quartet of heroes, constantly highlighting how important each of them are - something that at least half of the Arrowverse shows haven't fully grasped during their runs.
