Titans Vs. Arrowverse: Which Is Better?

2. Storylines

Titans V Arrowverse
The CW

Breaking things down as simply as as possible, Arrow often follows a Big Bad that either wants to destroy/rule Star City or has a deep personal tie to Oliver Queen's past and thus, wants to destroy him (by destroying the city). The Flash always centers on an evil metahuman (most commonly a speedster) with similar aspirations. Legends of Tomorrow's storylines always revolve around time and thus, allow the characters to venture into multiple time-periods to stop the threat, while Supergirl tends to focus on aliens and the threat that they can pose to humanity and the threat that humanity can pose to them.

While some storylines have been major flops (Arrow Season 4 we're looking at you), there have been much more hits than misses, including The Flash's premiere season which, to this day, remains one of the strongest well-developed and compelling superhero offerings in TV history.

While each of those shows tell a different story each season, Titans has seemingly adopted an alternative method - telling the story of Raven's origins and the team's formation across multiple seasons. The first season was an exceptionally slow burn that, once it got past its rough start, kick-started the story incredibly well. Unfortunately, there just weren't enough episodes as the finale left us wanting more (and not in a good way).

Titans undoubtedly has the better format for storyline progression, but the Arrowverse has had a lot more chances to get things right and, in doing so, has produced quite a few near-perfect seasons.

Winner: Arrowverse
