Top 10 TV Bromances

9. Vic, Shane, Lem & Ronnie (The Shield)

Seven seasons and a whole lot of betrayal, these guys have one of the best arc stories ever told across television. This is how you do friendship, brotherhood and loyalty gone horribly wrong. As the strike team, these four guys were as tight-knit a crew as could be found on any media platform. Corrupt but not without their own code, the Strike Team of the fictional Farmington district of Los Angeles saw more action than would be readily believable by most standards, but somehow the writers always made it work. Cases came and went, and what started as a fairly episodic show became one of the most ambitious, sprawling tales ever told. I don't want to spoil the events of the show €“ there are so many people who have never come across The Shield, and it's an absolute under-appreciated gem. What I will say is, along the way there is death, doubt, fighting, loyalty, desperate times and desperate measures, the mother of all betrayals and for this writer's money, an ending that comes second only to The Wire. It's that good and if you haven't yet seen The Shield, go back and watch it, now. Some of the best stuff in there was written by Kurt Sutter, who went on to create Sons of Anarchy €“ and believe, without The Shield, you would never have had Sons of Anarchy. Best bromance moment: Three of the Strike Team assemble at another member's grave.

When not writing Chris spends more time thinking about playing videogames than actually playing them and can usually be found reorganizing his Blu Ray and book collections. He owns four different editions of A Song of Ice and Fire and no, it isn't overkill. He's left the neon haze of Tokyo and Seoul for the more sedate streets of Bournemouth.
