True Blood: 10 Answers We Must Get In The Final Season

8. What Does Mr. Gus Want?

Commons The recent casting of Will Yun Lee as a new villain named Mr. Gus has stirred up speculation as to what his role will be in the already busy final season. Not much is formally known about the new character except the cursory description that he is from the south, a native of Japan, and out for revenge. Discovering who he will go a long way towards answering the question of what he wants. One plausible theory is that Mr. Gus is tied to Sara Newlin and the resolution of her plot line relative to her actions at the vampire camp. After the bombing of the Tru Blood factories, Governor Burrell began tainting the synthetic blood at the new factory he had initiated. When Ms. Suzuki, Tru Blood€™s business representative, discovered the widespread contamination, she attempted to inform the public but was interrupted by Burrell€™s co-conspirator, Sara Newlin. After an extended fight, Newlin murdered Suzuki with by stabbing her repeatedly in the head with her high-heeled shoe. Mr. Gus seeking revenge on behalf of the Tru Blood corporation is a strong possibility and would be crucial in wrapping-up several outstanding story lines, however at this stage, it is pure speculation. The actual nature of what he wants is still an unanswered question that season seven needs to answer. While it does seem assured we will get that answer relatively early in the season, the outcome and implications of his presence will resonate throughout the final season.
