True Blood Final Season: 10 Favourite Characters Who Could Die
8. Holly Cleary
The eighth position on this list was a difficult choice, alternating between Arlene Fowler Bellefleur and our actual choice, Holly Cleary. Arlene may be more universally loved than Holly, but we feel the odds of Arlenes death are slim in comparison. Arlene will live, she has earned her survival and will be one of the few left standing in the wake. Unfortunately, things arent so certain for Holly, the witch, waitress, and wife of Andy Bellefleur. Appearing as a starring character since season four, Holly has faced the supernatural elements of Bon Temps and has proven herself to be capable in a fight and willing to do what needs to be done. Hollys death is a strong possibility due to both plot and structure considerations. Story-wise, she is a beloved character whose death will resonate in subsequent events. Structurally, with Arlenes survival, the plot point of Merlottes Bar and Grill is sewed up and the need for Hollys presence in the finale is undermined. We predict her death will be a moment to remember: leading some final charge, providing backup for some major operation, or perhaps cut down while rescuing Sookie or Lafayette, or, poetically, Arlene, from some fatal clutch. Holly will not die due to some personality flaw, but with Arlene sure to survive, having two of Merlottes finest alive seems a bit redundant. More to the point, she is a fan favorite, the first witch on the show and a good wife to Andy, and her death would be relevant and meaningful to the viewers.
