Nic Pizzolatto is once again keeping the True Detective writing room pretty small, i.e. just himself. Writing one series of a TV show alone is a pretty big undertaking, doing it a second time means hes either crazy or egotistical, or both. There is method to the madness though, as the writing was such a strong part of the first season it makes sense for him to do it all again. This is his world that hes created, and its his to expand as he sees fit. Pizzolatto originally intended True Detective to be a novel, and you can see that in the way it plays out. Theres no reason to believe his second novel wont be just as well written.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
