True Detective Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

10. Pizzolatto Writing

Nic Pizzolatto is once again keeping the True Detective writing room pretty small, i.e. just himself. Writing one series of a TV show alone is a pretty big undertaking, doing it a second time means he€™s either crazy or egotistical, or both. There is method to the madness though, as the writing was such a strong part of the first season it makes sense for him to do it all again. This is his world that he€™s created, and it€™s his to expand as he sees fit. Pizzolatto originally intended True Detective to be a novel, and you can see that in the way it plays out. There€™s no reason to believe his second novel won€™t be just as well written.
