Twin Peaks: 10 Characters That Must Return For Season 3

1. Dale Cooper

How could you possibly pull of Twin Peaks without Special Agent Dale Cooper? That would be like All In The Family without Archie Bunker, The Simpsons without Homer or The Sopranos without Tony. More so than any other character on the show, fans identify with Kyle MacLachlan's portrayal of the honest, quirky, and perhaps mystical FBI agent. Not to mention he was nominated for an Emmy twice for the role. Perhaps no other question in the new season needs to be answered more than "What happened to Cooper?" Is he stuck in the Black Lodge? Is his doppelganger on the loose? And does he still have the "metabolism of a bumblebee?" While MacLachlan wanted limited involvement in Fire Walk With Me due to fear of being typecast, he looks like he's definitely on-board for season three. After the announcement was made by David Lynch, he Tweeted that he "Better fire up that percolator and find my black suit." Yes, please do! It will also be interesting to see how Cooper operates in the modern world. How does he talk to Diane? Does he still use a tape recorder? It doesn't really matter as long as he's back on the case. The world needs to hear more about his fascination with Tibet, his surreal dreams, and his appreciation of a fine cup of coffee. Mostly, though, you need him to guide you through the haunting, yet endlessly fascinating town of Twin Peaks. Which other characters should return to Twin Peaks 2016? Have your say down in the comments.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
