Twin Peaks Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

8. Shooting Starts In Washington State In September

The show is set to be primarily set in Twin Peaks (which seemed fairly obvious anyway), but what is exciting is the plan for shooting locations. The show's original pilot was filmed on location in Washington, with the remainder of the series primarily being filmed on sets in LA. David Lynch, however, has already been up to visit the actual locations and will be shooting at least some of the new season there. As Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee have confirmed, the original and iconic Double R Diner is set to be restored to the way it was in the early 1990s (and will indeed be kept that way after shooting wraps). Kyle MacLachlan has confirmed that they will be shooting some of the sequences (and presumably all of the external shots) on location, although some will also be filmed in LA. The sheriff's office reportedly requires some modifications in order to match the décor of the original series. The show is already in pre-production, and David Nevins has confirmed that shooting will begin in September (which is what Lynch had already told locals when he visited a month ago). If filming begins that early - even if it is just establishing/external shots - it does suggest that late 2016 is a realistic premiere date.
