9. There's Plenty To Enjoy During The Run-Up To Season 3
The hardest thing about the Twin Peaks revival is the wait which, as noted earlier, could stretch right through to 2017. There should be plenty to be getting on with in the meantime though. Firstly, of course, casting confirmations should be announced soon (and rumoured returning stars are highlighted later in this list), which will breed a lot of excitement and theories about the new season. Perhaps the most intriguing development is Mark Frost's announcement that he is penning a novel for release prior to the new series called The Secret Lives Of Twin Peaks. It will fill in the 25 year gap between Season 2 and Season 3, and will be a canonical part of the show's mythology. Given Frost's impressive track record as an author, it should be a must-read - and it'll help to kill some time during the lengthy wait. It was initially planned to be published before the end of 2015, though there's a possibility that the stalled contract negotiations may have pushed that date back slightly. Showtime have announced that they will air every original episode of the show prior to Season 3's premiere (but in the meantime, you should already have the exceptional "Entire Mystery" blu-ray box set!), but cast and crew have already signed Non-Disclosure Agreements. So don't expect any clues about content from them!
