DNA test or no DNA test, it’s becoming increasingly likely that Richard Horne – the murderous young man, who illegally sped into an oncoming lane and ran a stop sign, killing a little boy with his truck – is the evil spawn of fan-favourite Audrey Horne and Bad Cooper.

From Doc Hayward’s account, we understand that DoppelCooper visited Audrey in hospital after he emerged from The Black Lodge; therefore it is entirely possible that DoppelCooper sexually assaulted Audrey in the intensive care unit where she was being kept while in a comatose state from the explosion at the Savings and Loan.

Adding further credence to this theory, the way that Richard aggressively grabbed Charlotte in the booth of The Bang Bang Bar was startlingly similar to the way that DoppelCooper violently restrained Darya on the bed of the motel room in which she was brutally murdered shortly after.

Given Richard’s venomous attitude and the fact that he is also around the right age, it seems probable that this is where he fits on the Horne family tree, though he could also be a distant relative or, even, the son of Ben or Jerry Horne, as both were previously known for their philandering behaviour.

Other secondary candidates in the potential paternal pool include Ben’s mentally disabled son, Johnny Horne, and Audrey’s former love interest, John Justice “Jack” Wheeler, to whom she lost her virginity before he jetted off to South America towards the end of season two.
