Who They Are: Yes, it's true that Pocahontas is not exclusively a fairy tale or animation character. She was a real, flesh and blood woman of incredible strength, whose amazing life inspired so many works of fiction based on her life. To that end, it poses a tricky question for the Once producers. Do you tell a strictly historical vision of the character, limiting the more fantastical elements, or do you go all out and focus on the more fantasy-driven Disney version? It's an interesting question, which I'm sure has plagued the Once writers on more than one occasion. If Pocahontas does make her way to Storybrooke in season four, it seems likely that she will probably be a mixture of both the animated classic and the real-life story of her journey to the New World. And we know how much the Once producers loved troubled relationships, making it a good bet that there will be some love triangle between Pocahontas, John Smith and John Rolfe. It's too good for them to pass up. Who Should Play Them:
Former Smallville star Kristin Kreuk is technically Chinese, yes, but looks closer to the Disney version of the character than a lot of actresses. And since it's more than likely that she would be modeled after that version of events, Kreuk is a perfect choice to bring the Indian princess into the world of Once. There's a subtle beauty to the way Kreuk glides across the screen, endlessly compelling and beautiful, which is straight out of the film. In the animated film, Pocahontas was stern and protective, unflinching in the eyes of the pure savage nature of man. Kreuk has a distinct power about her, and it radiates off of her in waves, making her the absolute top choice to play Pocahontas. It might be tough to snag her with the CW renewing Beauty and the Beast for a third season, but you never know what's around the riverbend. But now it's your turn, as there's more than likely a few characters missing. Who do you want to see in season four of Once Upon a Time, and more importantly, who should play them?
