Utopia Series 2: 5 Things We'd Love To See

1. Bring Back Wilson

utopia-wilson Wilson Wilson is the beating heart of the group of heroes that make up the Utopia cast and he's also the one whose fate at the end of season one was left ambiguously open. After betraying Jessica and the rest of the group to help the Network's cause, he was left bleeding out in the Corvadt building and Jessica later implied he had died, although we never saw this and it was never acknowledged afterwards. To be honest, I don't think Utopia would ever be the same if they decided to cut Wilson out of the series all together. Not only is the one who sort of brought the gang together, it's his evolution and transformation from an ardent and fervent conspiracy theorist into someone actively working to maintain a conspiracy that would effectively end the human race. Wilson becomes his most feared enemy, the antithesis of everything he stood for and I think that should he survive Jessica's defensive attack, that'd be an incredibly interesting place to take him from. Wilson as a fully indoctrinated member of the enemy would be an interesting and surprising twist considering his past - but it also makes complete sense. Wilson is incredibly smart and a superb hacker, he'd be a great asset for the Network to utilise. Seeing him pitted against his former friends would be something fantastic to see, especially seeing as we could definitely see him be caught between the 'right thing' (the plan to sterilise the human race which, in a dark and twisted way, makes sense as an evil plan) and the genuine friendships he has for Ian, Becky, Grant et. al. In the end, the writers of Utopia have taken the heart and soul of the team and turned him loose on them - and if Wilson returns in season two, which I heartily and truly think he will, all things considered, it's going to be so thrilling to watch him face against the people he once called friends and try to hunt them down in order to save the human race. We'd watch it.
