Jessalyn Gilsig who played Siggy, was one of the most controversial characters on the show. She went from being the rich Earl Haraldson's wife to being a servant and has schemed and sexed her way through three seasons of Vikings.

In the last season however, Siggy met her demise when she saved Ragnar's two younger kids from falling through a frozen lake when his wife was out getting freaky with the Wanderer. Did you know that ol' Siggy was never meant to die though? Gilsig had made a special request to leave.

"I had some personal things in my life that I needed to be there for, some family things," Gilsig told The Hollywood Reporter in March. " So I approached Michael Hirst and said that it wasn't going to be possible for me to continue living overseas in Ireland, and it was time for me to move on. He was incredible about it. It was really sad and difficult and an incredibly hard decision." Michael said that he still had big plans for Siggy, but he decided to write her out instead of having Gilsig replaced with another actress, so that Siggy's story would have closure.
