11. Alfred The Great
Alfred the Great was the King of Wessex during the late 9th century AD. He was famous for successfully fighting off a lot of Viking attacks and greatly improving the education and legal system.
In the show he is the illegitimate son of Judith and Aethelstan, though Aethelwulf still raises him. However, in reality he was the legitimate son of King Aethelwulf and his wife, Queen Osburh.
