10. Queen Kwenthrith
Queen Kwenthrith is believed to have been based on Princess Cwenthryth of Mercia who lived in the 9th century AD. However she was the nephew of King Offa, rather than his daughter as depicted in the show. Saint Kenelm was her brother, both in the show and historical sources.
She was the abbess of Minster-in-Thanet in Kent in real life, not fighting to be the queen of Mercia. Her title was eventually lost when the Archbishop of Canterbury started questioning her validity as an abbess.
