3. Princess Gisla

Princess Gisla (or Gisela) was said to be the daughter of King Charles the Simple. He married her off to Rollo when he gave him the title of Duke of Normandy in 911. This trade was done in order to get Rollo to protect his lands from further Viking attacks.

In the show Princess Gisla is portrayed as the daughter of Charles the Bald, who was the grandfather of Charles the Simple. However, the show also portrays her as part of the deal made with Rollo to keep him in France for protection.

Her existence is not fully confirmed through historical sources, so some claim that she is just a mythical story. Others believe that she was an illegitimate child of Charles the Simple.
